Honey Paaji’s BritAsia Legacy Award — and the respect he gave back
A proud moment in London: the Music Legacy Award, and a speech that gave others their flowers.

A Music Legacy Award. For a website called YYHS Legacy, that one feels close to home.
Honey Paaji received the Music Legacy Award at the BritAsia Music & Film Awards 2026. The ceremony took place on 23 October at The Chancery Rosewood in Mayfair, London. BritAsia’s official winners list confirms the honour.
Giving others their flowers
What stayed with us was the respect he showed in his speech. His shout-outs to RDB, Jazzy B, Dr Zeus and the wider UK Punjabi music scene made the moment feel generous. Here was a night celebrating his legacy, and he made room to acknowledge other artists too.
That is the humility we love seeing from Paaji. Being proud of your own journey and giving others their flowers can sit together. For us, that was as memorable as the award itself.
Mandy Takhar at BAMFA
Mandy Takhar was also among the artists honoured that evening, receiving Breakthrough Performance of the Year in Film. BritAsia’s official report lists both her win and Honey Singh’s Music Legacy Award. Their presence at the same ceremony does not establish a romantic relationship.
Why this means something to the fans
We each have our own version of his journey: the first song a friend played, the album we kept going back to, the concert we finally made it to. This award gives us another date to add to those memories.
Congratulations, Paaji. We are proud to see your music celebrated, and just as proud to see you share the moment.
